On September 28th, our administration proudly launched EdenServ, East Devon District Council's brand-new, wholly owned environmental services company. Taking over from our previous provider, SUEZ, EdenServ brings our district's waste and recycling collections firmly under local ownership.

For our residents, the transition is completely seamless, as collection days and contact methods remain exactly the same. But behind the scenes, this strategic move ensures a resilient, locally owned service that guarantees long-term value, champions our environmental ambitions, and delivers real social value for our communities. There’s new EdenServ branding on vehicles and uniforms, proudly worn by the same experienced crews our residents know and trust.

Cllr Geoff Jung, our Portfolio Holder for Environment and Coast, said:
"The launch of EdenServ marks an exciting new chapter for East Devon. By establishing a council-owned company, we are delivering a service rooted in our communities, ensuring reliable, high-quality services for the future.

“While it’s strictly 'business as usual' for residents at the curb, this is a huge step forward for our environmental commitments. East Devon is already one of the UK's top recycling areas thanks to the dedication of our residents and the work of our outgoing partner, SUEZ. Now, with EdenServ, we are keeping that value local and building on that success for years to come.”
