Married with two sons, David lives in Exmouth. After retiring, he volunteered for the Citizens Advice Bureau and is a trustee of a London-based charity helping staff in need.

He is passionate about education and horrified by the reduced proportion of government funding and continuing discrimination against Devon which is impacting on the provision of teachers and resources for our local schools.

Lewis has lived on the outskirts of Sidford for 6 years and prior to that he lived in Beer, so he knows the area well. He is a retired wine trade professional, having worked for both small and large companies in his time. This has given him valuable experience in setting and adhering to budgets and targets which he feels would be useful should he be elected, as he feels that East Devon District Council is too remote and secretive and needs greater accountability and openness. He is strongly committed to protecting the interest of rural areas at the same time understands the development challenges facing both Sidford and Sidmouth.
