Saturday 11th August was cold, windy and rainy in Plymouth but nothing could dampen the enthusiasm of the marchers of Pride in Plymouth, including a number of Liberal Democrats from Plymouth and around the South West.
East Devon LibDems held a very enjoyable safari supper in Exmouth on Saturday 30th June, raising a tidy sum for constituency funds in the process. It is always wonderful to meet members who may not be able to attend our other social events around the constituency. The supper took place in the homes of three Exmouth members, and featured an amazing and delicious array of dishes- we have talented cooks in ou r number, it turns out!
A significant group of LibDems from all the South West made their way to London on Saturday, some setting off before 6am on the coaches arranged by Devon for Europe, to take part in one of the biggest, most peaceful, colourful and purposeful demonstrations London has ever seen. We were clapped and congratulated by passers-by despite crowding that must have been a tad inconvenient for them at times!

Well, last night at full council was certainly lively. Two motions were submitted by the East Devon Alliance. Both were fairly uncontroversial to a person of average levels of empathy. The text of the two motions as submitted were:
